A quiet life well remembered and loved

Filomena, cherished mother to Ignazio and Anielo Ammendola, started her well deserved rest in peace Sunday, May 7, 2023. 

Having immigrated to the US from Italy in 1961 with her late husband Tommaso Ammendola, they created the American dream of being homeowners and raising their two sons originally in Brooklyn NY then Massapequa NY. Although she did not have the opportunity to go back to Italy often, her family held special places in their heart for the sister known as a second mum to her siblings.

She is survived by her sons and adored grandchildren Devlin-Ann (Mormino), Jessica, Thomas and David and Great Granddaughter Penelope-Ann. She will be terribly missed for her kindness, expressive ability to make any person she met feel beautiful, loved and welcome. Her generosity, sense of tradition will carry on through her grandchildren who will remember her dearly and hold her close forever. Thank you Nonna for being the quiet but strong heart of the Ammendola family.
